Hi - I'd like to know a little more about Hakalau: I've done loads of research in to this field (well, it's my job as a trainer!) but the only references i can find for Hakalau are for the place, not any such 'state of mind'.

It sounds similar to the Second Circle of Presence (cf Patsy Rodenburg) - is that right?

Simon

Thank you for the question Simon.

Hakalau is also called "peripheral vision", or "The Learning State". It's origins thousands of years ago, so I imagine it's got quite a few new names as well!! It's the state of complete awareness, so there can be no negative emotions when you are truly there. Martial artists used it to defeat opponents, and now top athletes can use it to improve performances and even trainers to keep "present" to the room and not go off in your head (not you of course Simon). Better experienced than talked about though. I have produced a NLP MP3 or NLP CD called "Supreme Relationships and Trance States" which includes how to induce the Hakalau in yourself and how then to use it.
