NLP Training and self development

Written by Terry Elston on June 30th, 2008

So what has NLP Training got to do with personal development or self growth? What some people may or may not have realised is that the way we run our NLP NLP-takes-the-viewpoint-of-looking-at-"how"-the-system-works,-not-why. Training courses is from the inside out.

The great saying of Hermes was first laid out in The Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus, in the words "That which is Below corresponds to that which is Above, and that which is Above, corresponds to that which is Below, to accomplish the miracles of the One Thing."

Excuse me? What was that?

In accordance with the various levels of reality: physical, mental, and spiritual, this relates that what happens on any level happens on every other. This is however more often used in the sense of the microcosm and the macrocosm. The microcosm is oneself, and the macrocosm is the universe. The macrocosm is as the microcosm, and vice versa; within each lays the other, and through understanding one (usually the microcosm) you can understand the other.

So what’s this got to do with personal development and NLP?

Well, if I start my morning by projecting out a negative understanding of the day, I’m sure the outside world will very shortly conform to my inner world!

On the same level when you are seeing a client, having an interview or running a sales training, the same inner representations will apply to the outside “realities”.

In NLP we call this “your perceptions are your projections”.

So on the trainings, we will get you to work with yourself and your inner realities as much as getting to know the techniques of NLP.

The techniques of NLP are very useful and powerful, yet if your inner world is not aligned with where you want to go, you are not going to have a smooth ride!

That’s where the funny idea of “good luck” and “bad luck” comes in. If the inside world is negative or un-confident and you are trying to make something happen, guess what?! Yes, it will be like pushing a square rock up a hill (I guess the Druids may have a unique angle on this one though after building Stonehenge).

So the NLP training comes in two parts In-NLP-Parts-are-a-portion-of-the-unconscious-mind,-often-having-conflicting-bel – the inner and the outer.

That’s why we get people experiencing themselves so much more powerfully after their NLP training

“What an experience! I'm still reeling from the enormity of everything I learned and the worlds of possibility that opened up to me. As well as learning a whole gamut of new techniques that will revolutionise my coaching skills, I achieved much more than I ever would have thought possible towards my own personal development” Clair Bradford Coach, Sussex.

"I've attended a great many trainings in my role as CEO of a City Communications business and none have got close to the sequence of deep learnings I have experienced for the last week. A big thank you!" Robin Johnson - Managing Director Ovationxl executive coaching company.

"I have grown, changed and improved myself so much over the sum of just one week. It has been a true and remarkable experience. For your expertise, energy and love! Thank you so Much!!" Nick Penny, accountant

As you can see, the bulk of the revelations for these people were about themselves. From that point you can truly begin to work with the outside world with great power and confidence!

I don’t believe in positive thinking if there are contrary beliefs In-NLP-a-belief-is-a-series-of-decisions-that-eventually-add-up-to-making-a-stro underneath: That’s just not real and in my view, not human either. That would be like putting icing on dog poo and calling it sweet!

What I do believe in (and I keep my beliefs as few as possible) is clearing out the garden before you start to work powerfully with the flowers you want to see.

On our NLP Training, you’ll have a great weeks gardening and then just smell the roses!
