The Unconscious Mind in NLP is the part of your mind that you are not conscious or not aware of. For instance if I were to ask you the colour of your front door, you may answer “blue”. As long as it is blue, you have successfully utilized a simple operation with your unconscious, or subconscious, mind.
The other workings of your unconscious mind is that it runs the body and have a perfect blueprint for health and healing. Plus stores all your memories.
There is nothing spooky or mysterious about having and using an unconscious mind. If you think of your brain alike a massive computer, and your conscious mind as the windows into the computer, you have a good analogy of an unconscious mind.
The ‘hard drive’ of your brain is so big that it can’t possibly give you all the information all the time, therefore it needs a storage mechanism. Being able to utilize this hard drive is becoming conscious of yourself more and more.
In fact you could call most of our training at NLP World, training in how to trust and use your unconscious mind! Outside of NLP, the Unconscious Mind is often referred to as the Subconscious Mind or the Deeper Mind.
Using NLP communication tools, you can engage the Unconscious /Subconscious / Deeper Mind and deliver messages in a way that is received and stored unconsciously. This makes your communication more powerful and influential.
