May 2015 Practitioner Course
This May in Cape Town was an incredible learning venue for both the participants and myself as a trainer of Neuro Linguistic Programming.
I experienced learning’s that has changed the way I will approach the wording and distinguishing of my courses into the future – and also realized what a huge impact the courses make on people’s inner worlds.
Most people think that when you sign up to an NLP Practitioner course, you may be coming to a training to learn interesting, valuable and useful skill sets to take you into your destiny.
And four days into the NLP training, two people chose not continue the course. One of the two was overwhelmed by the intensive nature of old patterns emerging that eventually, she had to take leave and deal with those in somewhere else. And another realised that from being on this training, that her real passion for painting had emerged whilst working with other people one-to-one, was not where her destiny would take her. She thanked me and everyone on the training for assisting her to find these deepest loves.
There you can see the good, the bad and the ugly of taking an NLP training with us. The good is that who you really are will emerge, what you are naturally attracted to, and therefore what is your true essence of your life. The bad is that some of these old beliefs that have been keeping you repressed will come to the surface to be reevaluated and let go of, which can be a bit painful. And the ugly is that some of you will not be able to handle those patterns and have to leave.
A few days after the training course, I happened to be Skyping my good friend Susanne Billander who I’ve worked intimately with over the last 14 years and has an amazing eco house, next to each other in Costa Rica. We talked about this and agree (tongue in cheek) that I need to put another heading to the NLP Practitioner wording “……will you be tough enough to make it through?”
Why makes a course so introspective and real?
The training room has been designed on an NLP World training to be perfectly set up, clean and totally free of distractions. You walk into the conference venue and feel something is different here. This makes is very difficult for habits to thrive! When we start training, no food or tea/coffee in the room, no chit chat – we are off and running into a new world of the subconscious.
Coupled with the very conscious training room, no one on my training course team has other agendas apart from getting you to your destination. Nobody is upselling you into their products or their next course. Nor market to you. Your experience is allowed to be pure, flowing and growing. It is the ideal space, room (womb) for your next level of evolution as a person, whilst coaching and training you in unique skills to use with other people in coaching, training, education or the corporate sector.
Then you, as an NLP Practitioner have an incredible force to go out with; a set of amazing skill sets and techniques, associated with you as an amazing, naturally driven, powerful person. But will you be the one to survive?
